Insects on the paint

We all suffer from insects on the paint. If the insects are not removed, they can cause paint damage that must be polished away. An example I had last year was a customer who had his Tesla S model polished by me. The front was newly painted due to damage, so it had to be in good condition. I polished the car in two steps but had to go the front over five times as it had such severe damage from the insects. Every time I thought they were removed and I could not see any more traces of them, they popped up again when I applied the coating. It turned out that after the car was freshly painted, the customer had driven home and had not thought about the fact that there were insects in the air. The front was filled with insects, which came to sit there for a few days. At the same time, the paint was not hardened properly, which is why the damage was so extensive that I could not polish them away. They were minimized.

Insects on the paint – not a bad case

What do you get for your money when the car is finished?

You can ask yourself that. For 8 out of 10 people will probably think that there is not much difference between this Mercedes and one that has been through a Bilvask. If you go a little in depth with the process and the way it has been washed, then there is a huge difference.

The car has been washed in the gentlest way possible. The right products that do not leave limescale stains and the right washing techniques have been used. When you wash a car, no matter how gentle and sensitive you are to it, there will be some scratches. It cannot be avoided, but one can minimize them significantly, by using some good products and some good machines.

The Mercedes has been washed according to all the rules of the art and is now completely cleaned in the paint. The screen boxes have been cleaned and all small twisted hooks and cracks are free of dirt, which over time can cause paint damage and rust.

The door seams are cleaned so that they do not accumulate dirt, which in the long run gives holes in the paint and rust.

Wash in the laundry room

Let’s just give it a try. Imagine for a second you were transposed into the karmic driven world of Earl. You place it neatly in the middle of the laundry room and start the machine. The first thing the car wash does is spray a strong, dirt-dissolving chemical on the paint. After the car has been injected, the brushes start. They hammer in against the paintwork of the car, which is still filled with small stones and dirt. The brushes run back and forth a few times before it is finished. Finally, it rinses the car with a rinsing wax and blows it clean. Do you think it has made a small scratch in the paint? The dirt that sat on the paint has been hammered off with the brushes and not removed in a deep prewash before. It has definitely given your car some scratches.

Stay away from the laundry room, even if they advertise with the soft brushes and the nicest water. They smash the paint on your car.

What about paint protection?

Back to the Mercedes. The varnish was applied with a varnish protection, which in this case was Xn–steamgrnt-r8a.dk. The shelf life is between 1-2 months on this particular product. If you compare it to the washroom’s rinsing wax, which could last a few days, then you have a car that has been protected for a long time.

Xn–steamgrnt-r8a.dk is distinguished by the fact that it makes the car very smooth and shiny. There are other products that have longer shelf life or greater resistance to chemicals, but the choice fell on this particular product as I think it provides great value for money. Who does not like a nice smooth car that just shines? That’s what we want 🙂

After three hours the car was done and I could sit back and enjoy the result. The paint was so slippery that when I threw a microfiber cloth on the radiator hood, it slipped off. Check out the gallery where you can see the difference from start to finish. Do not hesitate to write to me if you would like good advice or more to know about which products I have used.
