The name Sircilla is derived from the term Sirishala, which means “Wealth Center.” It is, after all, the Silk and Silk Saree capital of the world. Spinning mills, power looms, textile processing, and dyeing facilities abound throughout the town. It is Telangana’s largest ‘Textile Center.’ It is also known as the Textile Town. It all started in 1983, so it’s been around 39 years of incredible craftsmanship. “My father Nalla Parandhamullu started weaving the Matchbox Saree while attempting to keep the wolf out of the door,” he says of his father, who started weaving the Matchbox Saree. The skill that started as a way to make a living is today regarded as a valuable talent all around the world!
Sircilla Silk Sarees: Where Exclusivity meets Endurance!
The Silk Sarees of Sircilla, Telangana, have taken on a new dimension because of Nalla Vijay’s distinct artistry. “Weaving this Saree is time-consuming and labor-intensive labor,” explains Nalla Vijay. It takes about 15 to 20 days to weave on a handloom. We do not use any chemicals in the production of the clothing, and it is all-natural. We receive pure silk from the Jangaon area and only use vegetable dyes to tint it.”
